IMAGINE ANOTHER AMERICA

When the Settlers came to America they detected a lot of riches on this new Land but they missed realizing its biggest treasure was the wisdom of the Native Americans. The spirituality of the Sioux Lakotas, for example, is a dynamic spirituality which reaches BEING in the human and doesn't simply stagnate in a disconnected thought-vision which only "believes" in some unreachable and imagined divine.
BEING in us, which is Reality's INFINITE ISness, awakens us to the fact we intrinsically are Nature within us and this reintegrates us into the unbroken network of Nature which encompasses the whole universe. Today, America with its Fossil Fuels compulsive dependancy, its weapon mania, its cult for the ego-power and the violence this involves, is disconnected from Nature and clashes with it within the individual first and as a consequence devastates the landscapes around - with Shale Oil & Gas wells for instance - while this Land once was respected as a Sacred one.
Now, just imagine America if the Settlers, instead of killing en masse the Native Americans, and keeping those who remained alive in reserves like cattle in a corral, deeply respected them and aimed at learning from them their profound wisdom which teaches the return to BEING in us, or the INFINITE depth of Reality's ISness, what the Lakotas call Wakan.
The term Wakan is described by the two words Spirit and Mystery. INFINITY is pure Spirit in essence and it seems a pure mystery to a person identified with thoughts and their limits, while it is pure evidence to a person who has returned to BEING which is this INFINITE Spirit in him/her.
Today this other America would naturally be the world leader yet not by means of violence and coercion but rather by the radiance of its PEACE and wisdom. Imagine general George A. Custer for instance being the spiritual disciple of the Oglala medicine man Horn Chips, and learning from him how to retrieve the Present Instant's dynamic-locus. Indeed America would have followed a different path on which it would have remained a Sacred Land that woud have offered another kind of treasure to the world than Cheeseburgers.
The Americans would have learnt that the whole world is Wakan or INFINITE in its very essence, and that for this reason it cannot be improved. They would culturally have known that if you tamper with the world, you'll ruin it and if you treat it like a separate object, you'll lose it precisely because Reality's ISness is INFINITE and as such is indivisible. As a matter of fact today we are ruining and losing the world with our so-called advanced manipulations perpetrated by our disconnected thought-identity which thinks it knows so much while it knows so little.
Yes, our so-called great civilization is destroying the Earth's natural mechanisms and in so doing threatens LIFE at a planetary scale, I don't call this mess a civilization but rather a technological barbarism.
BORN TO KILL.
Yet, instead of such a wise America, the America we know was born in violence. According to Ward Churchill, a professor of ethnic studies at the University of Colorado, the reduction of the North American Indian population from an estimated 12 million in 1500 to barely 237,000 in 1900 represents a"vast genocide, the most sustained on record".
Also, during the five years that lasted the American Civil War, 1861 - 1865, Americans mercilessly killed 700.000 of their fellow countrymen, or three times more than Bashir Al Assad did in Syria for an equal population of around 23 million people for America in 1850 and for Syria in 2011.
A child born in violence has this violence imprinted within his/her organism and is left with only two options. Either he/she becomes a polite and meek guy, unconsciously scared to the bones, and obeying the politically correct imposed by society the best he/she can .. or, he/she reproduces the violence imprinted within his/her organism and may become a danger who finds any pretext (ideology, religion, etc.) to unleash onto the world the violence imprinted in his/her depth.
It seems the United States as we know it has followed the second option. This explains why it was the only nation to make use of the nuclear weapon and why while the military budget of all the countries put together, including the American one, is of $1.400 billlion, while the sole American military budget is just the half of it or $700 billion. This is certainely not a defensive military budget but obviously an agressive one which de facto installs a planetary race for armament.
It is this potential for violence that triggers other violent guys like the barbarians of Islam who joyfully retaliate and spread their own violence in return, cutting throats and burning people alive. This pristine violence also explains why in the United States weapons are so easily available to everyone. According to the NRA there are some 310 million guns dispatched through the United States. According to FBI, there were 8583 homicides by firearms in 2011, out of 12664 homicides in total.
If this was an individual who was imprinted with such violence and since so early in life, he/she would certainely be counceled to follow a therapy right away.
