NEW AGAIN.

One thing I learnt from my years of meditation is we shouldn't have any preconcieved idea and expectation about what kind of experience we should "get" out of the return to BEING in us. Indeed, any cognitive reference to something we know, or imagine, and based upon our memories, is in itself what keeps us identified with our thougths, and may encapsulate us even while diving in our deepest inner quest.

We must leave the realm of the known and choose the realm of discovery which reigns over the always renewed tip of the Present Instant. This is where PEACE and JOY are naturally found since they are facets of BEING in us. For this discovery to happen we must give up thought control and accept whatever IS simply because it IS ... even if it doesn't fit with what we imagine and expect from meditation. Through this pure OBSERVATION we liberate ourself from the hold and the tyranny of our thougths that keep us locked up into a stagnating past. And through this emancipation we become new again.

Newness is the very fabric of Reality.

Usually we like to live into the citadel of the known because it is reassuring and it gives us the feeling we handle the situation. But very soon this citadel is transformed into a suffocating and boring prison which walls are made of what we already know. There, our freedom resembles a lot the one of a squirrel turning in loops into its wheel. By living in the known we're trying to avoid the foreseen or imagined dangers that may happen but then we miss the vivifying renewal of discovery and we search our thrill in different addictions and corrupted experiences.

What we must realize is the feeling of dominating the situation we may get by living locked up into the bubble of identification with thoughts, is pure illusion. In Reality LIFE can never be controlled. Trying to control LIFE is like trying to capture the wind in a box, all you get is fetid air that stinks.

Lao Tzu says in the Tao Te Ching: "the world is sacred. It cannot be controlled or improved. If you tamper with it, you'll ruin it. If you treat it like an object, you lose it".

Indeed, since Reality's ISness is INFINITE it stops nowhere and therefore has no outside and no border from where it could be penetrated: We already ARE this ISness. For this reason it cannot be considered objectively but only sujectively. Reality's ISness is an INFINITE Self which is pure consciousness. This notably explains why our objective and analytical civilization, based upon identification with thoughts and its fragmenting cognitive-glasses, ruins Nature and destroys the world.

The imagined dangers are pretexts brandished by identification with thoughts in order to keep us in its grip. When we succeed remaining at the always renewed tip of the Present Instant, where thoughts stop altogether, we are consciously reintegrated into Reality's INFINITE ISness which takes care of us. Reality has created us when we were nothing at all, we sprout and blossom from it and are made of it. So, why wouldn't we trust Reality's INFINITE wisdom which, beyond us, created the whole universe ? And why would we prefer trusting our thought-identity based upon a load of limited memories, and in so doing remain locked up in our cognitive shell ?

We've never left Nature's realm, only our cognitive disconnection from BEING in us that blinds our sight makes us think and behave as separate entities.

When we succeed quitting the lucubrations of our thought-identity which are time building and virtual stuff, we realize we are not our thoughts but a sharp and limitless consciousness which is essence to the whole transforming Present Instant and its constant newness. It is this non-stop newness which is intrinsically SPIRIT, or LIFE, but also Freedom.

The human BEING has an INFINITE depth which is Reality's ISness, and s(he) misses freedom as long as s(he) is blocked into the trap of identification with thoughts which are limited constructions.

Under the pretext of protecting us, Identification with thoughts chokes LIFE and even kills LIFE inwardly, within the individual, and outwardly, all around us and now at a planetary scale notably through our wars and the Global Warming we are generating.

Humankind needs a new emergence and the very first step is to become aware of a fundamental point: no ideology and no technology can save us as long as we are disconnected from Reality by identification with thoughts. Indeed, for millenia we've tried all kinds of thought-systems, religious as well as secular, but none of them worked. If none of them worked it is because the solution cannot be found in our thoughts but rather in a return to BEING in us.
