OBSERVE YOUR THOUGHTS

The human body is a marvel of sophistication and particularly its brain. Yet, the grandeur of the human BEING resides in our BEING part which "IS" Reality's INFINITE essence and this "ISness" is, by definition, a conscious experience. Therefore it suffice that we remove the lid of identification with thoughts from BEING's window in us for our whole body to be illuminated by INFINITY's Light and our behavior to be reintegrated into Nature's great harmony.
At some point you'll have to face the fact that you are identified with your thoughts and that thoughts are enclosing you into their kind of electro-cognitive screen that hides BEING in you. At least acknowledge you cannot stop thinking, even for one tiny little minute. I'm sorry to tell you this so abruptly but you are imprisoned by your thoughts my friend.
Thoughts will certainely NOT free us from their fake identity so easily. Neither will they free us from the thought-systems they build as to catch us, just like a spider spins its thread for capturing its preys.
Since the mists of time, thoughts have weaved very persuasive thoughts-systems, ideologies, religions, etc., which like golden cages induce humans to voluntarily remain caught under their spell. They prevent us having access to our inner Reality and, instead, impose upon us their cognitive virtuality as the ultimate truth. We are programed by our thoughts not the reverse.
Yet, you must admit if you're honest, and I know you're honest, that Reality's essence is not what we think but rather what we ARE. You will also verify the mere evidence that the ISness of Reality is an experience and as such it can only be conscious stuff.
Indeed, Reality is not a theory elaborated by thoughts, but an experience made at the always renewed tip of the Present Instant, and an experience involves consciousness. BEING in us is consciousness in substance. Outside consciousness there "IS" nothing all all.
When we realize this, the next step is to watch our thoughts instead of being carried away by them like pebbles in a stream. We should neither try resisting our thoughts because the force we would place in such fight would only reinforce their impetus.
Therefore, instead of being identified with our thoughts or try to resist this identification, we should watch our thoughts like a prisoner would watch the walls of his/her prison.
If we succeed in remaining present to what "IS" and observe our thoughts, the spell will be broken and we will no longer be enclosed into what we think. Indeed, since this observation brings us back to the Present Instant, which tip is so constantly renewed that thoughts do not have the necessary time to be generated, they will stop altogether.
At that stage we'll realize we're not our thoughts but a SELF much deeper, wider and more fundamental, which is totally who we ARE and totally one with Reality's INFINITE essence. This SELF contains our thoughts like the sky contains the passing clouds.
I like to take the sky as a metaphor. The clouds in the sky are always moving, always new, disappearing and reappearing. Yet, there's something that never changes and this is the space into which all these transformations occur. Consciousness is our inner sky into which everything happens and unfolds including our thoughts.
When we realize we're not our thoughts but the conscious space containing them, our thoughts may do whatever they want their poison has been removed. They cannot drag us around anymore because now we know they are not who we ARE. Their lie has been detected.
Yet, the fact that we stop identifying with our thoughts and therefore are back to Reality in us, doesn't mean our unresolved pains, generating the constant flow of thoughts, have disappeared.
It rather means that the "INFINITY" quality of BEING, provides for the necessary LOVE that immediately transforms the most threatening cloud crossing your inner sky into a sweet rain that reawakens our heart even brighter.
Note here that our unresolved pains will leave us at their own pace and not according to our thoughts' impatience and their agenda. Anyway, what is important is that we are conscious of being our inner sky and the cognitive clouds crossing us are not that important anymore. Albert Einstein said: "I never made one of my discoveries through the process of thinking".
